Life's Most Important Question
May 3, 2026 • John Harris
The sermon explored the critical difference between knowing about Jesus and actually living under his authority as King. Drawing from 2 Samuel 2-4 and the life of Peter, we examined how even those who claim allegiance to Christ can subtly resist his reign through informed resistance, unrepentant hearts, or by overriding his word with our own judgment. The implications for our spiritual life are profound: our answer to "Who is your king?" doesn't change who sits on the throne, but it determines whether we're living in step with reality or at war with it. The good news is that this King, while not safe, is profoundly good—receiving those who come to him not because of our goodness, but because of his.
