When the Strength Dries Up
Jul 12, 2026 • Andrew Long
The sermon explored the devastating consequences of hidden sin in King David's life and how it robbed him of moral strength precisely when his family needed him most. We witnessed the tragic story of Tamar's assault, Amnon's crime, and Absalom's revenge—all while David, paralyzed by his own unconfessed sins with Bathsheba, failed to act with the righteousness and strength his children desperately needed. This passage serves as a sobering warning for us today: hiding our sin from God will dry up our moral strength right when others depend on us. The good news is that God offers us a better path—one of consistent confession, genuine repentance, and restored strength through His grace.
