The Harder They Fall

The sermon explored the tragic fall of David in 2 Samuel 11, examining why this dark chapter has been preserved for us through the millennia. We learned that the church exists uniquely to deal with humanity's sin problem, and that David's descent from mountaintop blessing to devastating sin reveals a crucial truth: we are all capable of the same. The message emphasized that success never guarantees faithfulness, yesterday's obedience doesn't defeat tomorrow's temptation, and sin's fertility thrives in secrecy. Yet rather than leaving us in defeat, we're pointed toward the "tourniquet of grace"—God's provision to stop sin's bleeding in our lives.
