MIDWEEK @ 770

Letter from Pastor John

I am excited to send you this invite to "MIDWEEK @ 770", a weekly gathering each Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:00 pm for GCC members and friends of all ages. The goal of each program is to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18) as we hear, read, study, meditate and memorize the word of God together.  MIDWEEK will run from September to May. (See additional descriptions below.)

Our children (k-6th grade) will be attending AWANA, our students (7-12th grade) are encouraged to participate in INTERMISSION, and all adults are invited to attend FAITH FOUNDATIONS, a class taught by Pastor John H and others on the essential doctrines of the Christian faith. There will be childcare for ages birth through 4 years.

We look forward to gathering together so that we can encourage one another, be better equipped to live out our faith and pass it on to the next generation.

Eyes on Jesus,

-Pastor John H
AWANA happens every Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:00. This program is a tool we use to sink Scripture into the hearts and minds of our kids here at GCC. We think one of the most important gifts we can give to the next generation is a deep and lasting knowledge of God’s Word. AWANA is designed to partner with parents in cultivating a love for God’s Word in the lives of our kids through a simple and fun program. There is no charge for any aspect of AWANA. If your child plans to attend, you can click the button below and sign up. Questions? Contact: awana@gracechurchmarietta.org.
Intermission is a time for 7th-12th graders to gather together every Wednesday evening at GCC. Our desire it to create an oasis for students in the middle of their week to pause and refocus their lives on Christ. With all that goes on in a teenagers world, pausing, or taking an "intermission," is a much needed thing in students' lives. We want to see our students be conformed into the image of God and not conformed to this world. We do this through relational investment from godly men and women, teaching the truth of God's Word, creating opportunities to serve, building community, and of course having fun!

Your student needs a safe place to belong, ask questions, grow in their faith, and love the church experience and this is just the place for them. The students will be looking at the books of Ruth and 1 John together and seeing how these books apply to our lives today. There is an amazing group of small group leaders  ready to pour into the students this year.  We look forward to seeing you at the church every Wednesday at 6:30 and we hope you'll bring your friends!
Are you confident in what you believe about God? Do you know why you believe in Jesus? Is your faith built on the foundation of the biblical story? Are you growing in your faith, and how do you know if you are growing or not? To help you with these questions and more, GCC is offering a class for all adults each Wednesday evening called FAITH FOUNDATIONS.

FAITH FOUNDATIONS is a systematic study of the historic doctrines of the Christian faith. In their book You Are A Theologian, J.T. English and Jen Wilkin write, “Discipleship is both a skill and a discipline (as the term disciple indicates), requiring effort and commitment, as all worthwhile skills do. Conversion happens in an instant. Discipleship, on the other hand, is the work of a lifetime. It involves the transmission of an ancient faith from one generation to the next.”

Taught in a lecture and interactive format, FAITH FOUNDATIONS is a class designed to help the follower of Jesus know and love God well. Each class will read the Scriptures and discuss the faith foundations of what the Bible teaches. Class attendees can benefit greatly from the class discussions, but also may choose to read further from a variety of selected books. FAITH FOUNDATIONS will be a high level "flyover" of Christian doctrine with a deeper dive into specific doctrines beginning in the new year.

Join us each Wednesday evening to explore the essential doctrines of our faith.
