Wow, What an amazing Trip

We took 38 people last Thursday to raft the Nantahala River in NC. We left at 10:00 Thursday morning and drove up to Chick-fil-a in Ellijay Georgia for lunch. After Lunch we drove the rest of the way to Adventurous Fast Rivers, our rafting company. We all loaded up and started rafting. The water was COLD. 52 degrees years round. No joke. God blessed us with amazing weather. The river had a low fog on the river and the scenery was breathtaking. We stopped halfway down and the guides created a raft bridge to jump off of. Imagine Three rafts upside down flipped over end to end on the river. The last raft was double stacked which allowed our students a tall platform to jump off. We had a blast jumping in to the river while trying to thaw out at the same time. The final Rapid was the biggest. The pictures you see are from that series of whitewater. After Rafting we changed clothes said goodbyes and headed to the downtown pizza company in Murphy N.C. this is an all you can eat buffet where we enjoyed some delicious food. We drove the final hour and a half home to arrive back at the church at 9:00pm.

It was so cool to see the students bonding. Whether it was in the vans, on the rafts, or getting splashed by our chaperones we pray the friendships here would encourage their church attendance. We pray that their friendships would draw them close to Jesus and this trip was a small glimpse of the blessing of student ministries and the impact and influence experiences like this can have in these students lives.

Thankful, dry, and now warm.
